I get it. I work in real estate and sometimes not EVERYTHING needs to move with you when you move! But you donβt want to trash itβ¦ So, who will take it? In this post, Iβm going to share some of the top resources I give to my clients when they are getting ready to move and need to donate items in Bellingham and Whatcom County.
Definitely check in with each resource as sometimes they expand services or have new rules in place for what they are willing to accept! Weβll break it down by categories:

Bellingham Goodwill - Reusable clothing
Buffalo Exchange - They pay cash or you can get store credit!
Whatcom Humane Thrift Shop - Help support Animals in Whatcom County!
Assistance League of Bellingham, Thrift & Gift Shop - Please bring your βgently usedβ items in good condition to the receiving door at our back entrance in the alley.
Worn Again Thrift - Cash offer of 25% or 30% store credit, also, there is a donation treasure chest for pieces they canβt take but you still want to pass along.
Yβs Buys Thrift Boutique - Focus on women-identified clothing!
Where to donate Furniture in Bellingham:
Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County - It feels like they take EVERYTHING!!!
Bellingham Goodwill - And household items
Whatcom Humane Thrift Shop - Call ahead for large furniture donations like couches and recliners! They also accept dishes, china, and glassware!
Where to donate a Mattress in Bellingham:
Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County - New and lightly used mattresses. There is a sanitization fee of $10 per mattress/box spring. PLUS: They even have a new express pick up service!!!
The Salvation Army Thrift Stores - Call 360-733-1350 for a donation pickup service.
Where to donate Electronics in Bellingham:
Bellingham Goodwill - E-waste - All electronics including televisions, computer monitors.
1PC - Offer free electronics recycling for computers, monitors, TV's and other electronics.

Where to donate a Car in Bellingham:
Whatcom Humane Society - You βautoβ donate your old car, truck, boat or trailer for the animals at the Whatcom Humane Society. All vehicles must be in good running condition β no βjunkersβ please! Your donation is tax deductible and will help support the programs and services that WHS provides all year long. Email them to learn more: director@whatcomhumane.org.
Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County - They accept cars, trucks, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, farm equipment and construction equipment. Sounds like they can even pick it up from you!
The Salvation Army Thrift Stores - speak with the local Salvation Army office. (562) 491-8260
