See It First™: Why Earlier Access to Homes Matters for Buyers and Sellers
I was blown away by a single sentence emailed to me by Compass’ Founder Robert Reffkin:
“Every element of Compass.com has been redesigned to make it easier for buyers to discover homes earlier. See It First™ branding is now integrated on the home page, within search and on listing pages so buyers can more quickly see the advantage of homes that are on Compass.com before other sites.”
I want to break down that quote piece by piece because I think it is that important. In real estate, timing matters. Sometimes seeing the right home even a few days earlier can make a meaningful difference in a home’s journey to pending.
Compass recently introduced See It First™, part of the biggest redesign of Compass’s online website in a decade. The new experience is built around a simple idea: help buyers discover more homes earlier.
Every element of Compass has been redesigned to make that advantage easier to see. See It First™ is now integrated throughout the home page, search results, and individual listing pages, highlighting homes that are available on Compass.com before they appear on other major real estate websites.
What does this mean for buyers?
For buyers searching in competitive markets like Bellingham and Whatcom County, having earlier visibility can be valuable.
Through Compass.com, buyers can discover Coming Soon homes from across Compass International Holdings brands, giving them an opportunity to learn about properties before those listings are distributed more broadly as directed by the Seller’s choice.
That doesn't mean you need to rush into a decision. It simply means having more information, sooner — and more time to determine whether a property might be the right fit.
Why does this matter for sellers?
For sellers, See It First™ creates another opportunity to put your home in front of motivated buyers.
Compass is making a significant investment in bringing consumers directly to Compass.com, including a multimillion-dollar national marketing campaign. The goal is to create more exposure for Compass listings and connect interested buyers directly with the agents representing those homes.
For my sellers, this adds another layer to our marketing strategy: building awareness and buyer interest before a listing reaches the broader market.
A Better Way to Start the Search
Whether you're preparing to sell or beginning your search for a home in Bellingham or Whatcom County, access and exposure both matter.
Buyers benefit from the opportunity to see more homes earlier. Sellers benefit from putting their property in front of buyers sooner.
And in a market where the right opportunity can appear quickly, getting a head start can make all the difference.
