It’s My 10th Year in Real Estate — Here is My Year in Review after my first year at Compass.

Hi there, I’ve been a Real Estate Broker since 2015 and I’ve almost wrapped my FIRST year at Compass! It has been a wonderfully rewarding year for me here. I wanted to share the successes, what’s in progress, and what I’m looking forward to - come check it out!

One Door Closes, Another Bursts Open

I joined Compass on January 21, 2024, after Bellingham’s local boutique brokerage BNP Realtors closed its doors to bring new opportunities. I had been in awe of Compass since before they opened an office in Bellingham. I’ve always found the Compass office in Old Fairhaven strikingly beautiful with its few remaining nods to the old Bank of Fairhaven in 1891, from soring ceilings to the Chuckanut sandstone arched entry. While I enjoyed having Whole Foods within walking distance for a bite to eat I have fallen in love with Poke, Avenue Bread, Estelle, and the local coffee shops Fairhaven boasts.

What’s in a Brokerage?

Making the hop over to Compass as my new Real Estate Brokerage wasn’t a tough choice.

Compass offers my clients some top-tier programs, portals, and interactive systems to help me and my clients communicate about houses without just going back and forth on emails and texts. Just ask me about Compass Collections — It’s the Pinterest board of real estate and it’s just phenomenal. I also love the search functions because, in my opinion, it provides better laid out information than Zillow, Redfin, and other competitors.

In the past year, I have also been wildly impressed with Compass’ feedback loop from myself, my fellow brokers, and my clients. The company is always looking into how it can improve itself and it really shows.

My Achievements and Successes at Compass in 2024

At the time of writing this I have 65, 5-Star reviews on my profile and 151 5-Star Reviews on Zillow! Some of my most recent reviews from past clients have been stellar as well! Here are a few recent ones:

What Lessons I Learned

  • Challenges Faced:

    • The market faced its fair share of unnerved individuals who watched the Fed continue to increase rates. Then they dipped, then bounced up again. People seemed to ravenously consume the news announcements almost on a daily basis.

    • While I don’t have a crystal ball, I used data and predictions to help guide clients through their transactions.

  • Key Takeaways:

    • The saying is still true: “Life moves people.” As we rode the waves of Fed announcements in 2024, I still made real estate transactions happen and got clients moved with poise and efficiency.

    • Don’t delay reaching out to strategize how we can achieve your goals with any scenario you’re facing.

Looking Ahead to Real Estate in 2025

  • Goals for the Upcoming Year:

    • Expand my network of clientele, gain additional referrals, joining Whatcom Women’s Realtor Group, increase my Ragnar training, build my new personal garage + 2 ADU space, and add “condominiumizing” parcels to my knowledge base.

    • Constantly improving my marketing presentation collateral for Buyers & Sellers, run the first year of my monthly Newsletter, and plan the 2nd Annual Compass by Candlelight event.

  • Commitment to Clients:

    • Remain committed to providing excellent service, staying up on market insights, negotiating the best terms, and making the real estate process as smooth as possible for my clients.

  • Excitement for Growth:

    • Eager continue to grow and thrive at Compass in 2025 and beyond!

So long, to a fantastic 2024!

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all my clients, colleagues, vendors, my assistant Lauren and my Transaction Coordinator Kate who, collectively, keep a real estate transaction going. It takes a village to move someone into and out of a house - from deciding to sell and/or buy to signing on the dotted line…I am forever grateful to everyone who chooses to work with me and am deeply humbled by their commitment to me to be their guide from first meeting through a successful closing.

As 2025 welcomes itself into our world with a flip of the calendar and life begins to get going again, I am always here to serve and support your real estate needs. Feel free to reach out or send someone you know my way to for a no hassle, no commitment consultations or to discuss any real estate goals they may have.

I am looking forward to another incredible year. I wish everyone a wonderful 2025, or whatever year you’re finding yourself reading this blog!
